Bulgaria has a vast variety of wafers, beloved by kids and adults alike.
But one wafer stands tall and goes back a long way back in time, as far as the 1970-ies. Back then this wafer was revolutionary and luxury item, coated in chocolate and sprinkled with crushed peanuts – sooo delicious. Its competitors were only the plain wafers and the lokum wafers. So one can imagine why it was so popular that the kids calculated their pocket money in Moreni wafers. The name of this Queen of the Bulgarian Wafers comes from a rock formation near Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and the crushed peanuts resemble those rocks.
You can find it in every Wafer Box 🙂
